How well do people live?

Each year, the global polling giant
Gallup asked hundreds of thousands of people in more than 140 countries as part of an annual emotional wellbeing survey.
In addition, respondents are asked to rate where they stand on an imaginary ladder –
"where the lowest rung the worst possible life and the highest rung represents the best possible life" – and where they see themselves in five years.
Based on their responses, Gallup ranks
them as "successful, struggling or suffering".
The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) of the United Nations (UN) uses this survey data and combines them with the analysis of Twitter content and other surveys, as well as social and economic data,
to produce the annual World Happiness Report.
